Jones Counseling offers therapeutic services for children struggling with anxiety, depression, traumatic experiences, academic performance issues, ADHD, and/or behavioral problems. The parent or guardian will often be heavily involved in the treatment process.
The parent or guardian is included for a variety of reasons, and Ellis believes this is a critical component of working with most children. Child sessions are between 45-60 minutes with a portion of the session spent with the therapist and the parent only.
Children often heal, communicate, and express themselves through their play. For these reasons, Ellis incorporates Play Therapy in his work with children. In addition to Play Therapy, Ellis involves the parent or guardian in sessions to help support them in the therapeutic process.
